20100101: Peek Email Device

Many people move around with a Blackberry or an iPhone.

As much as I like those devices, they are just a bit overkill for my budget.

After some searching, I found the Peek email device.

It is so thin that many folks think it is a phone or a Blackberry.

It is not for the high-end user. But for me, to keep some casual oberservation on a couple of my more important email accounts, it has been working fine.

The push email is not quite as instantenous as you might get on other devices, but the price is right. $70 or so one-time fee for the device and $10 or less per month.

For those who have a Yahoo or similar web-based email account and want to keep casual tabs on incoming email, I think the Peek is a good fit.

I've used it across the country and it has been working fine.

Be aware that it will not display graphics in email. It is basically a text-only email reader. (You can also send.) The key-board is laid out well and easy to use. The keys are not too close together.
